The Greater Stockholm Disability Rights Federation unites several disability organisations in Stockholm county. Together we represent about 70.000 individual members within the greater Stockholm area. Our vision is a society that makes room for everyone, regardless of disabilities. The base for this is the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Sweden ratified the CRPD in 2008.
Region Stockholm is, among other things, responsible for all publicly financed healthcare and public transport in the Stockholm County. In order to handle these responsibilities the Region is organised into several administrations. The largest one is the Stockholm health care administration (Hälso- och sjukvårdsförvaltningen), HSF. Another large administration is the Stockholm traffic administration (Trafikförvaltningen), TF. Most of the administrations have a disability council, with representatives from different disability associations. The Greater Stockholm Disability Rights Federation is a member in most of these councils, including TF and HSF.
Unfortunatelly we are not able to help with individual problems. Our member associations can help in some cases. We also put together a list of links to organisations offering support.
The Greater Stockholm Disability Rights Federation is bound by the collective bargaining agreement, CBA, (”kollektivavtal”) for Salaried Employees in Civil Society. We are also a member of the employers association Fremia.
